How Hypnosis Works

focused attention + relaxed awareness

What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is safe. It's a naturally occurring, focused state of awareness. It is not sleep, and it is not 'losing control.'

In this state, your mind becomes more receptive to positive suggestions, emotional processing, and mental clarity. Hypnosis works by bypassing the critical, analytical part of your mind, giving you direct access to your subconscious- where habits, beliefs, and behaviors are actually stored.

That's why change through hypnosis can happen faster, and often more deeply, than with talk or willpower alone.

You remain awake, aware, and fully in control the entire time.

What a Session Feels Like

1

We talk first.

Every session starts with a conversation- what you want to change, what's been getting in the way, and whether hypnosis is the right fit. No pressure, no obligation.

4

You do the work, gently.

You stay aware and in control throughout- you can open your eyes, speak, or stop at any time.

2

We build a plan together.

Sessions are structured around your specific goals, at a pace that feels manageable- not a one-size-fits-all approach.

5

We debrief.

We talk through what came up, and what to expect as the change settles in.

3

You settle into a calm, focused state.

This isn't sleep- you'll hear my voice throughout, guiding you into a relaxed state where your subconscious is more open to change.

Why choose a hypnotist who was also a nurse?

My years in nursing shape how I practice hypnosis today. I've spent time at the bedside with people in real physical and emotional distress, and that clinical grounding carries into every session- clear explanation, careful pacing, and respect for what your mind and body need to actually feel safe enough to change. This isn't theatrics or vague suggestion. It's a structured, evidence-informed approach to working with your own subconscious.

FAQ
Will I lose control?

No. You remain fully aware and in control throughout every session. You can open your eyes, speak, or stop at any time. You can even lie or withhold information- it's not truth serum.

Does this actually work?

Hypnosis is a recognized therapeutic tool, and my clinical background means every session is grounded in how the mind and body actually respond to change.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on your goal- we'll talk through this openly on your discovery call, no guesswork.

Can everyone be hypnotized?

Most people can enter a hypnotic state to some degree, it just takes a willingness to relax and follow along. Like any skill, you can get better with guidance and practice.

Is hypnosis a substitute for medical or mental health treatment?

No. Hypnosis does not diagnose or treat any disease. It's intended to provide information, education, and motivational, meditative-like guidance to support your own capacity for positive change.
